TIER in York - Have your say!
Thank you for all of the comments submitted so far. We are reading them all and will be reviewing alongside CYC throughout the coming weeks.
Electric scooters (e-scooters) and electric bikes (e-bikes) are available for the public to rent across York.
We would like to hear York's views on three key areas:
- Parking
- User behaviour
- Rider experience.
Use the interactive map to tell us what you like, what’s not going so well, and what else would you like to see to support the use of TIER shared e-bikes and e-scooters.
Please note we are looking for comments and views on the use of the shared rental scheme only. All rental scheme vehicles are clearly marked with license plates and TIER branding. Please ensure you distinguish any comments relating to private e-scooter use.
This feedback will help us to:
- Monitor how our e-scooters and e-bikes are working in specific locations
- Improve the rider experience of TIER vehicles
- Help identify new parking locations for shared e-scooters and e-bikes across the city
- Adapt the service where required
- Understand the impact this emerging mode of shared transport is having in York
- Make recommendations about the national legislation needed for e-scooters in the longer term

- Parking - Is current offer of parking working well? Where would you like to see more parking available?
- User behaviour - Have you seen any poor user behaviour in the city?
- Rider experience - If you are a user, tell us about your experiences using York's roads and cycle lanes. Are there places you don’t feel safe sharing the road with other users? Is the quality of the road condition suitable? What would make you feel safer at specific locations? e.g. more protection and separation from other types of traffic.
